Let's Pray Together For America
(3 votes, average: 5.00 out of 5)
Written by Nicholas Z. Cardot

I very seldom pass along emails that I receive.  More often than not, I throw out forwarded emails as I consider them to be a nuisance.  Usually they are nothing more than spam clogging the storage available in my email account.  When I received the following message, however, I decided that it was relevant enough to share with everyone that I knew.  I encourage you to please join with me in prayer for our nation along with the spirit of this message.

This is the scariest election we as Christians have ever faced.   From the looks of the polls, the Christians aren't voting Christian values.  We all need to be on our knees. Do you believe we can take God at His word?  Call upon His name, then stand  back and watch His wonders to behold.  His scripture  gives us, as Christians, ownership of this land and  the ability to call upon God to heal it.  I  challenge you to do so.  We have never been more  desperate than now for God to heal our land.

If my people, which are called by my name shall  humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and  turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from  heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal  their land.  2 Chronicles 7:14

During WWII, there was an adviser to Churchill  who organized a group of people who dropped what  they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England , its people and peace.  This had an amazing effect as bombing stopped.

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America .

The United States of America and our citizens need prayer more than ever!!

If you would like to participate:  each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time, 8:00 PM Central, 7:00 PM Mountain, 6:00 PM Pacific, stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States , our troops, our citizens,  for  peace in the world, for wisdom and courage for our  leaders, the up-coming election, and that the Bible will remain the basis for the laws governing our  land and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.

If you know anyone who would like to  participate, please pass this along.   Someone said  if people really understood the full extent of the  power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless.  Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have. Thank You.

Please pass this onto anyone who you think will want to join us.  God Bless You!

You are absolutely right! This IS the scariest election. smilies/cry.gif I hope that every voting American goes out to the polls. We will be on the road to Oregon but you can be sure that we will have our absentee ballots turned in!

I have actually received this email message from several different people and am happy to see that many people are responding so positively to it. What a simple thing to simply pray for one minute each night, yet what a powerful impact that it could have on the landscape of our nation's politics. Thanks everyone for joining in with me.

Yes, America needs more prayer. That is an undeniable fact.

I miss the good old days when people's religion was a more personal matter. I find it incredibly obnoxious that it's so in everybody's face and in politics. Can't people have a relationship with their spirituality without having to push their beliefs on others? Your freedom to practice religion is only as strong as the separation of church and state.

I'm not sure what 'good old days' you are referring to. The religious beliefs of politicians have always been a factor in every election. If a person tends to believe one religion or another, it will impact every decision that he makes in life. A religious belief in a political leader will determine what kind of decisions he will make for our nation. If it doesn't, he is lying about his faith.

Politicians used to bring up religious topics all the time. Washington quoted scripture all the time in his speeches. Presidents used to pray publicly on a regular basis. Congress even passed legislation to fund Bible distribution in our early American republic.

Kennedy faced more scrutiny for being a Catholic during his election than Barack Obama has faced for being trained in a Madrasah. If you can't question what a man believes in and who he is as a person, how can you know that he will make a decision that is representative of your views of government. That's what this election is all about, isn't it? Finding someone who can represent you in Washington? Right?

My faith effects my view of economy, politics, foreign affairs, human rights, and every other aspect that government may touch. That is why we question the the faith of those to see how they will respond when the time comes to make tough decisions.

I know that when the nation exalts righteousness, our nation will be exalted. When our nation exalts sin, our nation will be brought low. I want our nation to be exalted, protected, defended, and prospered. That is why I want our nation to do what is right. That is why I want our elected officials to be men of character, integrity, morals, and values.

Praying for those in authority is very Biblical. We need to pray for America. We need to pray for our children. smilies/cry.gif

That's exactly right, David. Thanks for the support on that.

God usually gives a nation what they want and sometimes it is not the best.
God holds the heart of the king in His hand. Guess we better pray and rely on Gods good mercy.
