14. Veil-"That is to say, his flesh - no longer do we have to go through a High Priest because Christ is our High Priest and we have direct access to God!" (Heb. 10:20-21)

Numbers

Re:The Tabernacle 6 Months, 1 Week ago
Here is something I found amazing. I will start off by quoting a scripture in Numbers:

Num 24:[2] And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him.

So I was wondering. When Balaam lifted up his eyes, and saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes, what did he see?

Lets take a look first at what "abiding according to their tribes" meant. In the book of Numbers chapter 2 we get God's direction for how the tents of Israel were to be arrayed about the tabernacle. Note by population, and therefore number of tents and size of camp the placement about the tabernacle.

West 108,100
East 186,000 plus Moses, Aaron, and the Levites (approx 240,000 total)
North 157,000
South 151,000

Take a piece of paper (graph paper is best) and draw a rectangle for the tabernacle.

Now, make a rectangle representing the West camp of 108,000 and place it on the west side of tablernacle.

Now make a rectangle representing the East camp that is approx 2 1/2 times longer than the west camp, and place it on the East side of the tabernacle.

Now make a rectangle representing the North camp that is 1 1/2 times longer than the West camp and place it on the north.

Now make a rectangle representing the South camp that is also 1 1/2 times longer than the West camp and place in on the south.

Now take a look at what Balaam saw when he lifted up his eyes. He saw the camp of Israel, with the Tabernacle as the place where their sins were forgiven, arranged in the shape of the cross!!!

Coincendence that the tabernacle arrangement was a forshadowing of the cross where the ultimate sacrifice for their sins would be made? I don't think so! Is it any wonder that the "Spirit of God came upon him" after he viewed that sight?

Isn't God amazing!

That's interesting, Bro. Garry. I had never heard that before.

It is also worthy of note that the seven furnishings in the tabernacle are also arranged like a cross - from the moment you come through the one door and see the brazen altar, then the bronze laver (that is the long upright pole if you are trying to picture it), then inside the tabernacle on one side is the candlestick and on the other side is the table of shewbread (this would be like the horizontal pole), straight ahead is the altar of incense, then inside the veil is the ark of the covenant and the mercy seat.
