I decided to file this one under "Non-Baptist Religious Beliefs" because, as you will see, it describes something so far from the 'faith once delivered to the saints' (Jude 3) that it ought to be called another religion (moreover, it ought to be recognized as a damnable heresy). What I am alluding to is this ebook called "Reinventing Jesus," by Warren Smith. The book itself is very good; it is its subject that is evil. The book is about the attack on the deity and person of our blessed Savior, Jesus Christ. It outlines what I believe to be the machinations of Satan himself. The Bible, in II Peter 2:1,2 says,
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
All of the people that Warren Smith investigates in his timely book fall unambiguously under the title "false teachers." They are certainly among us now more than at any other time in history. They are denying our Lord, and swaying many from the Truth. This deception is warned of repeatedly throughout the New Testament. I believe firmly that we are witnessing the beginnings of the great falling away (II Thess. 2:3) which precedes the rapture and the coming of our King. This book will hopefully aid in your discernment, or even help you to vocalize an informed position in your God-given ministries. As you will see, Warren Smith's research is Biblically sound and thorough. Here is a link to the book:
