The people of Germany were patriotic toward the Fatherland with the Nazi Party.
The people of the Ussr were patriotic toward the C party when they murdered the Monarchy, the Czar and his family.
The people of China were patriotic when they murdered the Baptist missionary parents of John Birch during the Boxer Revolution.
Have you folks ever heard of "Blind Patriotism"?

Let me begin by defining patriotism. Webster in 1828 wrote this, "Love of one's country; the passion which aims to serve one's country, either in defending it from invasion, or protecting its rights and maintaining its laws and institutions in vigor and purity. Patriotism is the characteristic of a good citizen, the noblest passion that animates a man in the character of a citizen."
As a Bible believer, I know that what God says is good, is good for our nation.
Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. ~ Proverbs 14:34
If that means that we have to speak out against the sins of America, be ridiculed by society, and possibly martyred by the governing body of the very nation that I love, then that is my patriotic duty. This is how I define patriotism.
Elijah was patriotic when he prayed for a drought. Thousands probably starved to death because of this. Yet he followed God. That was patriotic.
Jeremiah was patriotic as he wept for Israel even though they put him in prison.

With that definition, those of us that help to fulfill the Great Commission through our local Baptist Church are patriotic, as they have the passion to serve our great nation the Gospel.
