The first thing I look for when I visit a website is their statement of faith. If there isn't one, then I look for a link to their church.
I visited some of the 'topsites' here, and couldn't find a statement of faith. There may have been one, but if so...they aren't very visible. I also didn't find one here. I'm just curious to know why others don't find this important.
My site is a devotional blog, and doesn't really require a statement of faith, but I put one on anyway....just some basic info...not a full fledged doctrinal statement...for people like me who want to know!
I should clarify that I don't stop reading just because I find a point I don't agree with ...I just like to know where people are coming from. As an Independant Baptist who has attended two IFB churches with very different doctrines over the past 20 years, I've come to realize just how many 'flavors' there are out there!

Good points. I will probably take that under advisement and work toward putting together a statement of faith and a mission statement for this site. I have actually been considering expanding the about page to include these items. Thanks for the input!

Did we ever get a statement of faith for the Muse? I think this is a good idea as well. How firm is the foundation of the Muse if there isn't one to stand on?

Instead of reinventing the wheel on a doctrinal statement, why not use the Apostles Creed or Nicene Creed? Should every generation come up with a new statement of faith as if our core beliefs change? Shouldn’t all Christians agree on the fundamental truths of our faith?

I haven't come up with one yet, Jeff but I agree that it is a great idea. We should put one together.
