I was just wondering which ones were the best and if you folks have had any successes with them? Our church is listed on a few and I have had a call or two but nothing substantial. I've listed our church on every one I could stumble across. We've had several people traveling who have stopped here as a result. Nobody just happens across us - the closest other ind bapt church near us is 40 mi away.

Thanks Brother. You got it right. I am home sick today and I'm beggin' off my mistakes because of it. I got a call from California from a brother who was moving into our area. Then he stayed in California. Ha! Oh well! It worked in principle.

It was sad seeing some of the churches listed on the Independent Baptist Church Finder. I have visited 6 of those churches that shouldn't even have the name "Baptist" on their sign.

One especially did not resemble anything like a Baptist church anymore but was entirely given over to the world. I visited that church because I had gone to Bible College with its pastor at Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College (BBF). It was sad when I showed up to a "rock concert" with 50 minutes of charismatic concert swaying and shouting, and then a 10 minute praise and devotional read from a book that was NOT the word of God.

I visited PCBBC in 1983. The AF sent me to Riverside to buy dogs (all kinds of large breeds) and I poked my head in the door. I went to a chapel service there and a white haired old gentleman was preaching and he was "tellin' us how the cow ate the cabbage". I just don't remember his name. I am pretty sure he was the college pres.

You just missed me! I left PCBBC in 1982. At that time Dr. Jack Baskin was the college president but was leaving. I am not entirely sure who took over after Dr. Baskin. If I took a guess I would guess Dr. Trisler.
